Murphy: ‘Imperative’ bus operators give N.J. 32 hours notice before arriving with migrants

Gov. Phil Murphy (D) has penned a letter to bus operators transporting migrants from Louisiana and Texas to New Jersey, stating that it is “imperative” they give the state Office of Emergency Management 32 hours notice before arriving.

“Over the course of approximately the last week, dozens of charter buses, operated by a number of your companies, transported from Texas and/or Louisiana, over 1,800 individuals who recently arrived in the United States to transit sites in New Jersey,” he wrote to 23 bus operators today, noting that almost all those migrants proceeded onward to New York City.

As of January 2nd, approximately 895 migrants had arrived at five different transit hubs in Secaucus, Trenton, Edison, Fanwood, and New Providence before heading to NYC.

He further stated, as Secaucus Mayor Michael Gonnelli previously did, that since New York City Mayor Eric Adams signed an executive order on December 27th limiting drop offs to certain time and locations, this is a work around to adhere to the order.

“Unfortunately, these buses arrived in New Jersey with no advance notice to appropriate state or local officials, and without taking proper precautions to ensure that passengers safely reach their ultimate destinations,” Murphy added, noting that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) was using state funds to pay for the transportation of migrants.

As a result, Murphy asked for each bus company to give the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management at least 32 hours notice before their anticipated date and time of arrival, along with several other details.

Specifically, he is seeking advanced notice about the total number of passengers on each bus, breaking that figure down to identify single adults vs. families, as well as families with children under 18, the location in New Jersey where they’ll be dropped off, along with estimated time of arrival, and the time and city the buses will be departing from.

Murphy is also requesting a description of each bus, including the license plate number, color, and any other identifying exterior features.

“As we continue to see more migrants arrive to our state at the hands of the Governor of Texas, who is reportedly funding the passengers’ transportation with taxpayer funds, notice to New Jersey officials in advance of these individuals’ anticipated arrival is critical to ensuring the health and safety of passengers once they arrive in New Jersey,” he added in  statement.

“Additionally, because we know the vast majority of these individuals are intending to travel to New York City, this information will be shared with our colleagues across the Hudson to ensure the passengers’ health and safety there.”

The governor’s remarks comes four days after four members of the New Jersey congressional delegation, including all three of Hudson County’s representatives, asked him for a meeting on this topic.

  1. Once Biden gives Murphy enough money (that will be funneled to Murphy-adjacent nonprofits that get out the vote but don’t engage in “prohibited political activity” wink-wink), New Jersey will gladly take all the migrants. NJ is competing with NYC for federal money. It’s all about the money!

  2. Why are any Democrat Party Open Border “Progressives” requiring notice? The only notice given to Texas is if they try to stop the anti-American, illegal invasion shuttled in then Joe Biden and the Democrats will sue the state.

Texas is so overwhelmed it began looking to stop the illegal invasion itself as the federal government has adopted an anti-American policy against its citizens and US law.

Didn’t people like Murphy and Ravi Bhalla all echo the love for illegal aliens arriving unannounced and illegally against US law and American policy at the border?

Aren’t Hoboken and New Jersey a self-declared “Sanctuary” for illegal aliens against US federal law? Millions upon millions have been shuttled through due to this globalist anti-American policy and a minor fraction arrives here. What’s the problem, Phil?
