Jersey City police seeking public’s help to ID man sought for info in downtown assault

The Jersey City Police Department is seeking the public’s help to identify a man sought for information in a downtown assault where one arrest has already been made and the victim claimed he was called a “terrorist.”

The Jersey City Police Department is seeking assistance in identifying the man pictured above, who is sought for information regarding an assault that took place at Grove Station, 116 Newark Ave., on November 27th, at approximately 1:30 a.m.

The male is described as standing five feet, eight inches tall, with a dark complexion, receding hairline, facial hair, and wears glasses.

Anyone with any information related to the identity of this man is asked to contact the East District detectives at 551-247-7309 (24/7) or 201-547-3052.

All information will be kept confidential.

Fadel Abdallah, 31, of Bergen County, was already arrested and charged with aggravated assault and the incident is not being investigated as a bias crime, officials said on Wednesday.

The victim, Mo Hamez, said in an Instagram post that he was sucker punched, jumped, and called slurs included a “terrorist.”
