“This morning, Hudson County Community College (HCCC) was contacted in regard to a threatening post on X (formerly Twitter) that was allegedly made by an HCCC student. HCCC is currently investigating whether the person is an HCCC student,” HCCC wrote on Facebook.

“HCCC has a zero-tolerance policy for such posts, and does not condone this behavior. Moreover, the College will not allow individuals or groups to use the College to propagate threats of any nature. HCCC will take every step to ensure the safety and security of the entire HCCC family and our community.”

The post came a few hours after the group Stop Anti-Semitism, who describes themselves as a leading non-partisan U.S-based organization fighting and exposing anti-Semitism, tagged HCCC in a post alleging that a student had been targeted in a threatening post.

“When an Israeli family posted to Facebook about losing their son to Hamas terrorists on May 7th, Fares Hossam El-Din cynically commented ‘you will be the next victim’ with two face heart emojis,” the group wrote.

In his own post, HCCC President Dr. Christopher Reber added that “does not condone threats of any nature and will respond appropriately,” reiterating that the matter is being investigated.
