“A 3 alarm fire at 2 Marine View Plaza has been declared under control. @HobokenVol_EMS is treating victims,” the Hoboken Fire Department tweeted minutes ago.
According to Mayor Ravi Bhalla’s Deputy Chief of Staff Jason Freeman, the blaze began on the 17th story of the building and spread to the 18th floor. As of about 1:15 p.m., a fire investigator was on the way to determine the cause and scope of the incident.
The fire was deemed under control around 1 p.m. and no firefighters sustained any injuries, though some residents are being treated for smoke inhalation.
Bhalla tweeted that the city’s Office of Constituent Affairs and Red Cross will be available to assist displaced residents.
NOT everyone was evacuated. My father is an 92 year old man who had eye surgery. He was not taken out and he was ONLY 3 or 4 floor away from fire. He was concerned about smoke.
HFD put out the fire. Mayor Bhalla and his staff did a nice job feeding and taking care of the people who were displaced. As usual former First Ward Councilwoman Terri Castellano was their to support her neighbors.
Not so long ago Nasty Punkass was illustrating Castellano on witches broom…
Defuesco has a real job not a store and multiple apartments left to him by his father.
Pizza? That’s exactly what a fire victim needs why they watch their home go up in flames! What faux outrage.
