Yesterday, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Anyelo Jimenez-Marte, 30, of Secaucus, on charges relating to sex crimes committed on a juvenile female, Suarez said in a statement.

The crimes occurred in a Secaucus apartment on various dates in 2022 and 2023 when the victim was between 14 and 15 years old and the victim is known to the defendant.

Jimenez-Marte is charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He is being detained at the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.

The State has filed a motion for detention in this matter, which is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, October 26th.

Suarez credited the Special Victims Unit and Secaucus Police Department with the investigation and arrest. Anyone wishing to report a sex crime should call the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) at 201-915-1234.
