“North Bergen has always prioritized families, and by investing in high-quality Pre-K programs that remain affordable, we are helping parents save money while ensuring our youngest residents receive a strong educational foundation,” North Superintendent of Schools Dr. George Solter said in a statement.

“These affordable extended-day options allow us to meet the needs of working families while providing students with a safe, enriching learning environment every day.”

Registration will take place at the Lincoln Annex School, 1206 63rd St., from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

First offered last year and expanding this year with additional seats for Pre-K 3 students, these free full-day programs provide families with a high-quality early childhood education option.

The Pre-K program offers flexible monthly pricing for after-care designed to support working parents:

Pre-K + After-Care Monthly Rates

• 5 days per week – $274/month
• 4 days per week – $249/month
• 3 days per week – $217/month
• 2 days per week – $162/month
• 1 day per week – $100/month

According to the North Bergen school district, private daycares in the area cost approximately $1,500 per month, per child – on average.

Further, the district offers several opportunities to further reduce costs for families, including a 20 percent discount for those who qualify for free and reduced lunch, as well as sibling discounts, military discounts, district employee discounts, and available subsidies.

Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 registration must be completed in person at the Lincoln Annex Kindergarten Center.
