In an editorial, seven Republican officials are coming out in favor of Assemblyman Robert Auth’s (R-39) artificial intelligence (AI) bill, indicating that it will create a number of jobs in New Jersey if approved.

In the present historical moment America is confronted with two seemingly disconnected challenges: Winning the AI race and medical supply chain independence.
AI, this generation’s space race, and the domestic manufacture of our own supply of life saving drugs are matters of national security.
However different these issues may seem, our main opponent for both is the same – it is the Chinese communist dictatorship.
Thanks to NJ Assemblyman Robert Auth, New Jersey can be the leading state helping America win on both fronts.
First, we must realize that the Chinese government is busy building dozens of new data centers in their country while clandestinely pushing ant-AI/anti-data center propaganda in ours.
Second, we must recognize that China dominates our medicinal supply lines, a fact that hurt our nation during covid and the post-covid trade wars.
Fortunately, Assemblyman Auth’s proposed legislation connects these two critically important national security problems with a plan that will create good paying jobs in New Jersey and which can help build up our state’s inner cities.
The plan is simple, use public-private partnerships to clean up polluted lots, build data centers in Urban Enterprise Zones (UEZ’s), and use a portion of their profits to fund generic medicinal manufacturing in the same UEZ communities.
NJ’s world class universities such as Stevens Institute, Montclair State, Kean University, NJIT, Rowan, Drew University and more understand AI is the next frontier.
If America is going to continue to be the place of economic growth, if we are to beat China in AI, and become independent of the Chinese communist dictatorship for life saving medicine we must be forward thinking and utilize existing resources to maximize our strengths and opportunities.
Assemblyman Auth’s legislation does just that – it takes existing frameworks to create good paying jobs in underserved cities, ensures NJ is the leading state for AI development so that America wins the AI race, and creates medical independence by securing a national supply of life saving medicines for Americans.

“our main opponent for both is the same – it is the Chinese communist dictatorship.”
Sounds like the brain-dead dog-walker living off memes instead of actual information.
Our enemy with AI is not “the chinese communists.” AI spend last year was $1trillion+ on $50billion revenue. The boardroom exuberance far outpaces value created. This is a problem of c-suites and venture capitalists who do not even live in a suburb of the real world. They have “had this problem” before. The mortgage disaster was also not caused by the chinese communists, though I’m sure this group will tell you otherwise.
