“National Night Out is one of the many traditions that makes North Bergen such a special place to live,” Mayor Nick Sacco said in a statement.
“Seeing thousands of residents spending time with their neighbors, our police officers, and township officials is a reminder that the strength of our community comes from the relationships we build with one another. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this another outstanding National Night Out.”
Hosted by the township and the North Bergen Police Department, featured events were held at the Recreation Center and Library, Policemen’s Memorial Park, Meadowview Village Senior Citizen Building, Applied Housing, Broadway, 88th Street Park, and the 76th Street Baseball Field.
“National Night Out is an opportunity for our officers to engage with residents outside of their everyday responsibilities and continue building the trust that is essential to effective community policing,” added Police Chief Robert Farley Jr.
“The tremendous turnout at every location, especially along Broadway, reflects the strong partnership between the North Bergen Police Department and the community we proudly serve. I want to thank all of our officers, volunteers, township employees, and everyone who joined us for making this such a successful event.”
Sacco, along with Commissioners Allen Pascual, Anthony Vainieri, Claudia Rodriguez, and Hugo Cabrera, visited events throughout the township to meet with residents and thank the officers, volunteers, and township employees who helped make the evening a success.
Families enjoyed free food, beverages, music, games, raffles, giveaways, and activities while spending time with police officers, township officials, and neighbors in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.
“The incredible participation we saw across all seven locations demonstrates the pride North Bergen residents have in their community,” noted Public Safety Commissioner Allen Pascual.
“Public safety is a shared responsibility, and events like National Night Out strengthen the relationships that help keep our neighborhoods safe, welcoming, and connected. It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the evening together.”
