Victor Valentin, 36, of Jersey City, was charged with promoting prostitution, while Arleny Santana-Lopez, 37, of Jersey City, Jade Thigpen, 24 of Newark, and Ciara Cheeseboro, 31, of East Orange, were all charged with prostitution, according to Police Capt. Dennis Miller.

Additionally, Donald Hooper, 22, of Newark, was charged with resisting and hindering arrest and Kempes Smith, 26, of East Orange, was arrested on active warrants out of East Orange and Jersey City, officials said.

Miller declined to mention the exact location(s) where the arrests occurred since combating prostitution is an ongoing initiative of the department, but did say all of the aforementioned arrests occurred at local hotels, not residential areas.

“The investigation has been ongoing for several years as one of Chief [Kevin] Flaherty’s goals to address prostitution and its related offenses within our local hotels,” Miller also told Hudson County View.
