CarePoint began a partnership with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey in 2018 and UnitedHealthcare in 2019.
With the new addition of Cigna, CarePoint now participates with almost every major insurance carrier and the majority of commercially insured patients in Hudson County now have in-network access to its medical care.
“We’re excited and pleased to announce Bayonne Medical Center, Hoboken University Medical Center and Christ Hospital can now offer health care to Cigna members on an in-network basis as part of our dedication to patient-centered care,” CarePoint CEO Dr.
Achintya Moulick said in a statement.
“This will lead to increased access to top quality care and the improvement in patient health. This agreement brings more choice and other benefits of in-network access to the residents of Hudson County starting June 1st.”
CarePoint plans to be in network with all major providers by summer, continuing to participate with Medicare, Medicaid, and most Medicare and Medicaid replacement plans.
The expansion of insurance options will provide more flexibility for patients in and around
Hudson County and underscores CarePoint’s commitment to delivering quality care to these
communities in a unique and patient-focused approach.
“We are happy to welcome CarePoint Health to Cigna’s network. We look forward to
collaborating with them to serve our customers, who will now have more choice and improved access to quality, affordable care,” said Dave Kobus, Cigna President for New Jersey and New York.
“This relationship provides thousands of additional participants with access to CarePoint Health facilities, physicians and other care providers to enhance access to quality care and improve clinical outcomes.”
