After victory, re-elected Mayor Felix Roque challenges Wiley to shake his hand

After Dr. Felix Roque secured four more years as mayor of West New York, he asked longtime rival Commissioner Count Wiley to shake his hand in order to “unite and work together” for the prosperity of the town at his victory party at Las Palmas.

“We beat Wiley big time,” declared campaign manager, Pablo Fonseca.

Later Fonseca announced, “Our entire team won by almost a thousand votes each.”

Assemblywoman Angelia Jimenez (D-32) also explained that Roque’s team is a fresh start West New York.

“Gabriel Rodriquez worked with Congressman [Albio] Sires and Cosmo Cirillo worked for my office as my Chief of Staff,” said Jimenez. “it’s something positive.”

Roque replaced all four of his running mates from 2011 for this election – which included Wiley.

At the victory celebration, Roque supporters continually chanted “Four more years!”

The re-elected mayor predictably mentioned Wiley, though he brought up his name in a positive light.

“We have to unite and work together, this is not about us – we have to bring everybody on board and work with everybody.”

Roque told Hudson County View that he challenges Wiley to shake his hand on the first step to becoming friends again and making West New York a better place.

  1. If Roque were a gentleman, he would extend his hand to Wiley, not “challenge” him to shake hands. What a crass individual.

I guess Roque didn’t need to be with his deathly ill mother last night. He was all smiles at the celebrations, but before the election he hid from the public behind the excuse of his sick mother.

    Fonseca is a thug.

Four more years of these low lifes.

  2. >>> Later Fonseca announced, “Our entire team won by almost a thousand votes each.” >>>

But Fonseca neglected to mention that Roque got almost 1000 votes LESS than he got four years ago, before people knew him.
That’s just about a 25% drop — not much to be proud of.

Not as long as Roque is still on it.
