Jayden Medina, 23, of Jersey City, is charged with endangering an injured victim, a third-degree crime, Mello said in a statement.

He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and released on a summons pending his first court appearance.

On May 9th, shortly before 8 a.m., the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of John F. Kennedy Boulevard and Duncan Avenue.

Responding officers located a 37-year-old woman with non-life threatening injuries. The striking vehicle — later identified as a 2010 Nissan Sentra — did not remain at the scene.

The victim, a Jersey City resident, was transported by Emergency Medical Services to the Jersey City Medical Center.

Mello credited the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation and arrest.
