“From his current congressional posts including serving on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to his previous experience as a Commissioner of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Congressman Rob Menendez helps protect the jobs and the interest of our ILA New Jersey members and their families,” ILA President Harold J. Daggett said in a statement.

“The ILA encourages all our members and their families residing in the Eighth Congressional District, which includes most of Hudson County, the East and North Wards of the City of Newark in Essex County, and the City of Elizabeth in Union County, to support and campaign for the reelection of Congressman Rob Menendez.”

ILA represents over 85,000 maritime workers and is proudly headquartered in North Bergen, which is part of the 8th Distirct.

“I am proud to serve as a voice for dedicated ILA members and workers everywhere. ILA members play a critical role in our supply chains and propel our nation every single day. We must support their critical work. I will always be there to fight for and listen to our unions,” Menendez added.

“In Washington, we will continue to deliver federal funds for our district and for infrastructure investments that will continue to grow the port. With support from incredible union organizations such as ILA, we continue to affirm our record for working families. I look forward to continuing to serve and collaborate with our brothers and sisters in organized labor.”

The primary election is on June 4th, where Menendez looks to stave off challenges from Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla and first time candidate Kyle Jasey.
