“Covid PCR testing at 507 West Street until 3pm. No wait at this time!,” the Union City Police Department wrote on Facebook at 10:32 a.m.

On Instagram, the UCPD responded to an inquiry about the turnaround time by stating they are dependent on the lab and results are delayed due to the recent increased demand for testing.

“We are dependent on the lab to provide timely results. Due to the increased volume of testing and the holiday, results are delayed. Hopefully your results will be available soon,” they wrote.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, Hudson County has had 9,004 positive cases, a 24.6 percent positivity rate, 217 new hospital admissions, and less than 10 deaths in the past week.
