Juan Gonzalez-Fuentes, 44, was charged with kidnapping, carjacking, burglary, two counts of aggravated sexual assault, and aggravated sexual criminal contact, Suarez said in a statement.

He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City just after 9:30 p.m. last night.

On Tuesday, April 13th, at approximately 10:30 p.m., while the victim was asleep in her
boyfriend’s car which was parked and left running on 28th Street off of John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Union City, Gonzalez-Fuentes entered the car and drove the victim to the downtown area of North Bergen, near 2600 Meadowview Avenue.

The victim awoke to Gonzalez-Fuentes sexually assaulting her and he then fled the scene.

Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Union City and North Bergen Police Departments for the investigation and arrest.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit has filed a motion to detain
Gonzalez-Fuentes and a detention hearing is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, April 20th.
