Yesterday at approximately 7:50 p.m., the Bayonne Police Department responded to an automobile collision at the intersection of Avenue C and 16th Street, Suarez began in a statement.

Upon arrival, responding officers found that two automobiles had collided at that intersection. After the collision, one of the vehicles travelled onto the sidewalk, striking and
injuring three pedestrians – who were all juveniles, authorities said.

The injured parties were transported by Emergency Medical Services to the Jersey City Medical Center, officials said.

The first pedestrian, 1, of Bayonne was treated at the hospital and released. The second
pedestrian, 5, of Bayonne, is in stable condition at the hospital. These two pedestrians are
brothers who were trick-or-treating with their grandmother at the time of the incident, police said.

Their grandmother was left unharmed as a result of the accident. The third pedestrian, 17, of Bayonne, remains in stable condition at the hospital. He is not related to the other juveniles, authorities said.

Both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement officers. No charges have been filed against either driver at this time.

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Bayonne Police Department.
