“Thanks to Hoboken’s strong partnership with Stevens, our fully vaccinated residents will now have access during the summer to Stevens’ tennis courts,” Mayor Ravi Bhalla said in a statement.
“This is another way Hoboken is providing additional recreation options for our residents, and I thank President Farvardin and his team for working with us to make this possible.”
Stevens President Nariman Farvardin added that the courts will be open daily, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and then 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday, for fully vaccinated residents 18 and older.
Hoboken residents who would like to sign-up to utilize the tennis courts must first register at http://www.hobokennj.gov/stevenstennis, and provide contact information, government identification or utility bill indicating a Hoboken address, and proof of full vaccination.
The form will be then processed by the city, with an approval email from the city required before picking up the required Stevens visitor ID card.
After receiving the approval email, the ID card can be picked up at the Schaefer Athletic Center’s reception desk, Monday through Thursday between 10 a.m. and 8:00 pm, and on Friday between 10 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
The reception desk at the Schaefer Athletic Center is located in the Stevens campus, in the main lobby of the building and can only be accessed through the front entrance.
Additionally, there is no parking available on campus for the tennis courts and note that all rules and regulations must be followed, including a one-hour time limit for full courts when they’re full and swiping into the facility on their own, among other things.
