On December 12th, 2025 it was reported to the Secaucus police that at approximately 4:10 a.m., two masked males attempted to break into an Arn Terrace home with the purpose to steal the resident’s BMW that was parked in the driveway, Miller said in a statement.
The men arrived in a Hyundai that was reported stolen in Irvington, however, they were startled by the home’s security system and fled the area. A short time later, Secaucus police detectives responded and gathered evidence.
Then, on December 17th, 2025 it was reported to the Secaucus police that at about 4:54 a.m., three men arrived on Allan Terrace in a BMW X3 that was reported stolen from South Orange.
Two men exited the vehicle and approached the residence and attempted to pry the window open, but were unsuccessful. Afterwards, Secaucus police detectives responded and gathered evidence.
They conducted a follow-up investigation and identified Hakim White, 18, of Newark, as one of the men who attempted to burglarize the Allan Terrace residence. He was arrested and charged on January 23rd, 2026.
In May of 2026, detectives from the Maplewood Police Department contacted the Secaucus Police Detective Division and provided information relating to both of the aforementioned burglary attempts.
After corroborating the information provided by the Maplewood detectives, Zameer Suggs and Znajay Nelson, both, 18 of Newark were charged on July 6th with the attempted burglary of the Allan Terrace residence.
Additionally, Nelson was charged with the attempted burglary of the Arn Terrace residence.
“Since crime has no borders, true collaboration and intelligence sharing is what makes law enforcement effective,” Miller added.
“I want to thank the detectives from the Maplewood Police Department, and I commend the Secaucus Police detectives for their continued tireless work.”
Suggs and Nelson are both charged with criminal attempt to commit residential burglary, criminal attempt to commit motor vehicle theft, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, participating in auto theft trafficking network, conspiracy to commit residential burglary, and criminal mischief for the Allan Terrace incident.
Further, Nelson is charged with criminal attempt to commit residential burglary, criminal attempt to commit motor vehicle theft, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, participating in an auto theft trafficking network, and conspiracy to commit residential burglary for the Arn Terrace incident.
