Orlando Martinez-Chavez, 48, was convicted by a jury on Thursday of one count of sexual assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, Suarez said in a statement.
He faces up to 10 years in state prison and is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 13.
Martinez-Chavez led the Iglesia Pentecostal Lirio de los Valles Church on Summit Avenue in the Jersey City Heights and he was removed from his position in June 2018.
After he was arrested in August 2018, two more victims came forward and said they had been sexually assaulted as well: one who was 16 at the time of the assault, and another who was 15
He was found guilty after one day of trial and testimony presided over by Hudson County Superior Court Judge Patrick J. Arre.
