Ottanee Turner, 35, of Jersey City, was charged with shoplifting, hindering apprehension and lewdness, according to Police Lt. Eric Amato.

She was taken into custody around 11:39 p.m. last night from the area of 27th Street and Avenue C. Officers responded to Allcare Pharmacy, located at 590 Avenue C, on a report of shoplifting in the past involving Turner stealing scratch off lottery tickets.

According to a store employee, while she left the register area to locate an item for Turner, she was observed removing two, $30 scratch off lottery tickets from the dispenser and attempt to place them in her pocket, police said.

While she attempted to flee the store with the tickets, she dropped one on the floor and
left with the other one. Afterwards, the employee observed Turner sitting on the park bench in Fitzpatrick Park and notified police of the incident.

Officers located Turner and conducted an on-scene investigation, during which Turner
provided a false name to the officers.

Officers were also able to locate the lottery ticket that was stolen on the ground near her. As a result, she was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters for processing.

While being processed, Turner became very uncooperative and irate, stripped naked in her holding cell and began to “parade around,” officials said.

After a short period of time, Turner dressed herself and she was additionally charged with
lewdness, police said.
