Michael Toeppe, 35, of Racine, Wisconsin, was charged with four counts of criminal mischief last night, according to Police Det. Lt. Edgardo Cruz.

Yesterday at around 10:35 p.m., Police Officers Joseph Mezzina and Ramon Estrella were dispatched to the area of 89 Willow Ave. on a report of someone spotted on the fire escape who fled the scene, authorities said.

While on the scene, security told police that they had just chased a man who had thrown a rock at the window of the establishment. As the cops spoke further with the person who called, they observed a man walking in the vicinity and stopped him as part of the investigation, officials said.

After speaking with several witnesses and victims, it was determined that the man, Toeppe, had caused property damage to several victims from four different addresses, police said.

The total damage of the vandalism was over $3,000, authorities said. Toeppe was processed and later transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
