Fausto Hernandez-Victori, 34, of Jersey City, was charged with criminal sexual contact, according to Police Det. Lt. Danilo Cabrera.

On Halloween at about 1:35 a.m., the victim caught the attention of Sgt. Edward Sellick and Police Officer Tyler Soto in the area of 3rd and Washington Streets.

The victim reported a man was walking next to her as she was walking eastbound on 3rd Street from Bloomfield Street. As he was walking next to her, he reached from behind and placed his hand “under her skirt touching her intimate part through clothing.”

The victim then pointed to a suspect now traveling southbound on Washington Street.

Sellick stayed with the victim as Soto caught up with the suspect. The investigation led to identifying Hernandez-Victori as the attacker.

Fausto was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing. Fausto was charged with criminal sexual contact on a summons and released with a court date, authorities said.
