Ronald McCall, 52, of Bayonne, was charged with aggravated arson and causing risk of injury or damage, according to Police Lt. Eric Amato.

McCall was taken into custody around 12:12 p.m. on Monday from his residence on Avenue E. Officers responded to the Bayonne Family Community Center, located on 259
Avenue E , on a report of an arson in the past, authorities said.

On March 9th, McCall was observed on video surveillance sliding a piece of lit cardboard underneath the door of another resident then fueling the fire with an unknown liquid, officials said.

The resident of the apartment was present inside the apartment at the time of the
incident, however, no damage or injuries were reported, police said.
