Monica Rodriguez, 35, of Hoboken, was charged with two counts of throwing bodily fluid, aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and bail jumping, according to Police Det. Lt. Edgardo Cruz.

At around 11:05 p.m. Saturday, two Hoboken police officers responded to a noise complaint at 330 Jackson St. The officer spoke with the owner about the music being too loud when Rodriguez walked outside with a beer bottle in her hand, authorities said.

She refused to discard the beer, becoming irate as police continued to warn her about carrying an open container of alcohol on the street, eventually shouting at the officers and manager, officials said.

She shoved one of the officers while continuing to yell at them as she was placed under arrest, handcuffed and transported to headquarters for processing, police said.

At headquarters, Rodriguez continued to display similar behavior and had to be removed from the police car by the officers. During this time, she spit on the same officer she had shoved earlier, authorities said.

Due to her level of intoxication, the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance was called and transported her to the hospital. After a short stay at the Hoboken University Medical Center, she was remanded to the Hudson County jail, officials said.

  1. What a charming young lady ! I wonder if the Prosecutor will proceed with this. I wonder what the charges are. Its a shame civilized people have to tolerate this type of conduct.
