North Hudson Regional Fire & Rescue promoted five people at a ceremony at their West New York headquarters on Monday, naming one new deputy chief, one new battalion chief, and three captains.

James J. Corso is now a deputy chief, Adrian A. Prunes is the department’s newest battalion chief, and Zachary T. Zellner, Vincent A. Caruso, and Roberto Ortiz rose to the rank of captain/
“These members represent the absolute best of our department and are more than deserving of promotion,” NHRFR Chief Michael Falco said in a statement.
“Every day, our members put their lives on the line to protect the people of North Hudson and ensure that their property is safe. I am incredibly proud of these members as well as everyone that is involved in the North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue.”
In attendance at the promotion ceremony were state Senator (D-32)/North Bergen Mayor Nick Sacco, Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner, Board of County Commissioners Chair Anthony Vainieri – a NHRFR board member – NHRFR Executive Director Jeffrey Welz, NHRFR Executive Director Michael DeOrio, NHRFR Communications Director Joseph Isola, NHRFR Deputy Chief Daniel DeOrio, and NHRFR Deputy Chief Daniel Fresse.
