North Bergen held a flag raising ceremony for the Dominican Republic’s Independence Day yesterday outside of Township Hall, located at 4233 John F. Kennedy Boulevard.

The ceremony at town hall was hosted by Mayor Nick Sacco, who was joined by fellow local elected leaders in Commissioners Hugo Cabrera, Allen Pascual, Anthony Vainieri, and Claudia Rodriguez.
Also in attendance was Assemblyman Julio Marenco (D-32), former Assemblyman Pedro Mejia, and numerous North Bergen officials, police officers, and employees.
The Dominican Republic officially celebrated the 180th anniversary of its independence on Tuesday, February 27th.
