Dear Jersey City constituents and supporters,

May you all be in your best health and spirits.

I just want to take this time to write a few words of appreciation to all the people who were out supporting us by passing out literature, hanging posters and asking friends and family to vote for the Education Matters team and of course the poll workers and staff at polling sites. Your time and energy is very much appreciated.

To Daniel Rivera, Bill O’Dea and his team for their support, Mike and Ron Greco, and all union members who put their trust in us to bring change to our schools and find solutions to support JCPS students, teachers and staff.

To everyone who took time out to get to the polls or fill out and deliver their ballot, I appreciate every vote.

Many times it feels as if our voices will not be heard through the ballot, and sometimes it can appear to be true. However, on November 8, 2022 the people of Jersey City proved different.

I encourage more of our younger residents to become registered voters and become more involved in their city so as to create a society that is strong and healthy for their future.

Again much appreciation to all supporters and voters.

Sincerely,

Afaf D. Muhammad
