The Jersey City Police Department is investigating a shots fired incident where bullets hit the City Hall Annex on Martin Luther King Drive last evening.

Shots were fired at 426 Rose Ave. at approximately 10:19 p.m. last night, no injuries were reported, and the investigation was ongoing, according to city spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione.

Multiple social media posts show that the City Hall Annex, located at 360 Martin Luther King Dr. – also known as 1 Jackson Square – were hit with bullets at three street level windows.

The Jersey City Times reported that nine shell casing were recovered by police and that city workers are “on edge” after the incident.

The annex includes the Health and Human Services; Housing, Economic Development and Commerce; Planning; and Zoning Departments, as well as the Tax Assessor’s Office.
