Hoboken man charged with murder for fatal Jersey City shooting, 2 others injured

A Hoboken man has been charged with murder for a fatal Jersey City shooting where two others were injured earlier this month, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

Joseph Del Valle, 36, of Hoboken, is charged with murder, two counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, Suarez said in a statement.

He was arrested at an address on Summit Avenue in Jersey City and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.

Additionally, Francisco Salcedo, 42, of Jersey City, is charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

He was arrested on March 11th at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus. The State’s Motion for Detention was granted by Hudson County Superior Court Judge Paul DePascale yesterday

Just before 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 9th, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of shots fired on Jordan Avenue.

Responding officers located a crime scene on Jordan Avenue between Mercer Street and Vroom Street.

Three male victims self-transported to Jersey City Medical Center. Christoph Terrero Marte, 33, of Jersey City, was pronounced dead at approximately 7:35 a.m.

Two additional victims, a 28-year-old Union City man and a 31-year-old Jersey City man, were treated for injuries that are non-life threatening, authorities said.
