“Last night during 8pm-4am period, we had an extra 50 @HobokenPD Offices (sic) on the streets. With the regular deployment, here wee approx. 80 officers patrolling at that time. Those officers responded to 239 calls for service in those 8 hours. An avg Sat. night would have approx 100,” Ferrante tweeted around 10 a.m. this morning.

In a series of subsequent tweets, the police chief revealed that the department issued 102 summons: 62 motor vehicle moving violations and 40 city ordinances summonses for drink or urinating in public.

The eight arrests included two fro marijuana possession, one for smoking marijuana in public, one for disorderly conduct, two for simple assault and two for driving while intoxicated – one for a motor vehicle, another for an E-scooter.

The basic cursory information of who was arrested and where, such as a 34-year-old woman from Jersey City being arrested at 551 Newark Ave. for drunkenly operating an E-Scooter, was posted by Ferrante.

He also said more details of the arrests will be released tomorrow.

“I want to commend the outstanding effort of our men & women of @HobokenPD
last night. Thru many challenges, professionalism & teamwork ruled the day leading to the most important things,no serious injuries to civilians & no injuries to officers. Dispatchers were also excellent!,” Ferrante said at the end of his tweet thread.

He also commended Capt. Mike DeTrizio, Lts. Steve Aguiar and John Petrosino, as well as Sgts. Joseph Lucignano and Steve Kranz, for helping prepare the deployment and operations for the evening.

The event was promoted on barcrawllive.com and listed nine different Hoboken bars as participants.

“Get ready to put on your coolest, scariest or sexiest costume and join us for the event everyone will be talking about. Halloween is back and we’re creeping it real with the OFFICIAL crawl! No tricks here, just treats! So come get your BOOze on with us!,” the event description says.
