” … The questions posed to the candidates cover critical areas such as public safety, fiscal responsibility, development, education, and quality of life. These issues embody the principles and priorities that matter most to the thousands of registered Republicans across our city,” Hoboken GOP Executive Board Secretary Mathew Fisher said in a statement.

“These topics are, and should be, the major points of discussion when Hoboken residents select the candidates who will lead our community forward. Though this is a nonpartisan municipal race, the values of good governance transcend party lines. Rather than endorsing a single candidate or slate, the Hoboken Republican Committee created and distributed this questionnaire to empower voters.”

Mayoral candidates 2nd Ward Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher, 3rd Ward Councilman Mike Russo, 4th Ward Councilman Ruben Ramos, Councilwoman-at-Large Emily Jabbour, and U.S. Treasury official Dini Ajmani all answered the 17 questions posed.

Ramos and Jabbour’s full council slate’s responded, while only Russo and Ajmani provided insight from their respective teams. Fisher’s slate answered as well, with the exception of council-at-large candidate Carter Craft.

Independent 6th Ward council candidate Ian Rintel also replied, while another independent candidate, Manny Rivera Soler, did not. Mayoral candidate Pat Waiters also did not answer the questionnaire, according to the Hoboken GOP.

The responses for each slate can be read here:

Team Jabbour
Team Ramos
Team Fisher (minus Carter Craft)
3rd Ward Councilman Mike Russo
Dini Ajmani
Ian Rintel

  1. When will these idiots realise that if you own a business, it will serve them well if they DO NOT endorse a candidate? People who do not support their candidate will not shop or support that business. It’s just not a good idea. Common sense is not as common as one would hope.
