Prior to then, the Riverside Medical Group was providing coronavirus testing in the Mile Square City at the 14th Street Viaduct location since March with rapid testing then made available a couple weeks later.

According to the mayor’s office, they had administered over 60,000 COVID-19 tests throughout the pandemic to the Hoboken community. Riverside’s testing site was the first public, rapid-testing location in New Jersey and one of the first in the tri-state area.

“From the outset of the pandemic, Dr. Brahmbhatt and the Riverside Medical Team have been there for Hoboken, and I thank them for all they’ve done for our city,” Mayor Bhalla said in a statement.

“As one of the first public, rapid-testing sites in the region, Riverside made sure our residents had early and continued access to testing, which undoubtedly saved lives. While the closing of the testing center is bittersweet, it also demonstrates that we are making real progress in returning back to normal.”

He also thanked everyone from the city who played a critical role in keeping the testing site up and running, as well as Bijou Properties for donating the 16th Street site in the fall.

“Hoboken CERT is incredibly proud of the role we played, providing information and helping register citizens and employees for COVID-19 testing through our call center,” added Hoboken CERT Sgt. Jack Silbert.

“It was an honor to work with Riverside Medical Group, who impressed us with their efficiency and quick response to any pressing cases we brought to their attention.”

In addition to the COVID-19 testing, Riverside Medical Group served as one of Hoboken’s primary vaccination partners for seniors, first responders, healthcare workers and essential workers, providing vaccinations to over 4,300 residents and members of the community.

Hoboken residents can continue to get tested through Riverside with either a rapid or PCR COVID-19 test at all three Riverside locations in Hoboken.
