The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating the fourth hit-and-run in the past 15 days.

“The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a hit-and-run crash in the area of Kennedy Boulevard and Communipaw Avenue in which a pedestrian was injured. Please avoid the area,” the HCPO tweeted last night.
On February 3rd, a 48-year-old pedestrian from Union City was struck near the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Woodlawn Avenue.
Another incident occurred on February 1st on Communipaw Avenue, preceded by one on John F. Kennedy Boulevard on January 26th.
At 10:21 a.m., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez released more information.
At approximately 7:45 p.m. Friday, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Communipaw Avenue and JFK Boulevard.
Responding officers located a victim, later identified as a 39-year-old Jersey City woman, with multiple injuries. The striking vehicle did not remain at the scene.
The victim was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where she is listed in critical condition.
During the course of the preliminary investigation, a vehicle of interest was located.
The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case.
