The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Hoboken Police Department are investigating the circumstances of a man found dead in the Hudson River.

At approximately 2:15 p.m. yesterday,, the Hoboken Police Department was notified that a human body was found in the Hudson River near Pier C Park, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement.
Responding officers located remains of an adult man and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The homicide unit was notified and arrived to the scene.
The identity of the male has not yet been confirmed by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for later this week, which is anticipated to determine the man’s identity, as well as the cause and manner of death.
Additional information will be made available when the Homicide Unit receives updates from the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, authorities said.
