Prosecutor: Authorities investigating 6-car crash that left one dead in Jersey City

Authorities are investigating a six-car crash that left one dead in Jersey City yesterday morning, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

At approximately 11:58 a.m. yesterday, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a multi-vehicle collision in the area of Garfield Avenue and Wegman Parkway.

Upon arrival, responding officers located multiple damaged vehicles and the lifeless body of a female driver. Desiree Milow, 36, of Jersey City, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:26 p.m. and six vehicles were damaged in the collision.

Five additional individuals were transported to the Jersey City Medical Center to be treated for injuries.

The preliminary investigation found Milow’s Chevy Tahoe collided with multiple vehicles along Garfield Avenue between Danforth Avenue and Wegman Parkway before coming to a final stop.

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating this case.
