Guttenberg Police Department investigating Thanksgiving hit-and-run, one arrest made

The Guttenberg Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run on Thanksgiving where the driver hit a parked vehicle and sped away, with one arrest made thus far.

Yesterday at approximately 6:21 a.m., the Guttenberg Police Department received numerous 9-1-1 calls reporting that a hit-and-run occurred in the area of 70th Street and Hudson Avenue, Sgt. Sgt. Aleksandar Ramadanovic said in a statement.

Members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division immediately responded to that location, along with an additional location on the 100 block of 71 Street, where one of the heavily damaged vehicles involved in the incident had possibly fled.

“One arrest has been made so far; however, this investigation is ongoing, and members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau are actively working to uncover more information about this incident,” he added.

He also noted that the department has received and reviewed video footage of the incident, likely the same or similar to the cellphone video uploaded by HudPost that is embedded above.
