Sources close to the matter independently confirmed the situation to HCV after NJ Globe first reported it.

While the Hudson County Board of Commissioners will vote on the appointed post in the new year, that is just a formality as the county executive makes the appointment and the $107,242 a year gig is typically selected by the Bayonne mayor.

Ashe-Liming, who served as her sister’s campaign treasurer in the May mayoral contest, was appointed to the post about three years ago when Ashe-Nadrowski was the council president and still closely aligned with Mayor Davis.

Jamie Davis has previously served as a 911 dispatcher in Bayonne for three decades and also served in the same role in Jersey City for two years.

This is not the first time a deputy county clerk from Bayonne hasn’t been reappointed.

Mary Jane Desmond, who won a seat on the Bayonne Board of Education last month as part of a ticket backed by Davis’ political opponents, was ousted after running for county clerk against Barbara Netchert in 2008.

Ashe-Nadrowski challenged Davis in the spring and came up 93 votes from forcing a runoff in a contest that also featured Dr. Mitchell Brown.

Mayor Davis, who is on vacation, could not be reached for comment on Wednesday.

  1. It looks like no one who read this article has any words. And I, as a concerned citizen totally agree. There are no words to say except that nepotism is alive and well. There is one question I do have however… The legacy of this administration will not farewell in BAYONNE’s history. Isn’t that what the current administration wanted to eliminate? If I recall after reading all those wasteful and nasty flyers from their administration. And this appointment as I understand, it’s not the first of many…..you wash my back I’ll wash yours mentality.
