“Congressman Payne cares deeply about the people of this state and delivers for NJ-10. Whether it’s securing the removal of lead pipes, making vital improvements to our transportation infrastructure, lowering the cost of healthcare, or combatting climate change, he leads with the concerns of his constituents in mind,” Sherrill said in a statement.

“We’ve partnered closely since my first days in Congress to make life better for New Jerseyans, including securing federal funding to complete the Gateway Tunnel Project. It is a great pleasure to serve New Jerseyans alongside him, especially in those communities we represent together. I am proud to endorse him for re-election.”

Payne ensured that the INVEST in America Act included lead removal funds for low-income cities, and wrote and passed the TEST for Lead Act mandating that schools test their drinking water for lead.

“Congresswoman Sherrill is a tireless and dedicated public servant. She has successfully brought back New Jersey tax dollars for clean water projects, affordable housing, and mental healthcare in our state. We share a dedication to tackling the toughest issues facing people in New Jersey, and I am honored to receive her endorsement,” the congressman added.

Payne is up for re-election on June 7th and faces challengers in Imani Oakley and Akil Khalfani.
