“Rob has shown us that he understands this moment and what it means for working people,” HTC President Richard Maroko said in a statement.

“Workers are facing unique challenges as we come out of the pandemic, and Rob has shown to us that he’s willing to fight for the right of workers to face those challenges collectively and democratically. I am confident he will do a great job in Congress, and our union is proud to endorse him.”

HTC represents approximately 6,000 members in Northern New Jersey, many of whom live and work in New Jersey’s 8th Congressional District.

Menendez is heavily favored to succeed U.S. Rep. Albio Sires, who is retiring after eight terms at the end of the year.

He faces June 7th primary challengers in David Ocampo Grajales and Ane Roseborough- Eberhard.
