The service allows residents to commute to and from the terminal more easily during morning and evening hours by eliminating the need to find open docking space at the River Street docking station during peak times.

“The popular valet service at Hoboken Terminal makes it even easier for residents and visitors to choose alternative transportation options whether they are once again commuting to and from work, running errands, or visiting friends and family,“ Mayor Ravi Bhalla said in a statement.

“Thank you to Lyft for working with my administration to bring back the program this fall.”

Through the program, valet staff help significantly expand the availability of dock spaces and bikes at the Hoboken Terminal – River Street docking station on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The valet service is free for all Citi Bike riders.

“Our goal is to provide bikes and parking where our riders need it most. That’s why we’re adding a Citi Bike valet to our popular Hoboken Terminal station so commuters can easily find an available bike or dock,” added Lyft General Manager of Citi Bike Laura Fox.

Citi Bike expanded into Hoboken in May 2021 through a partnership with Jersey City. The interconnected, regional program allows members to easily travel between Jersey City, Hoboken, and New York City.

Over 1,000 residents are members of Citi Bike. Members of all three programs have access to over 21,000 bikes, including e-bikes, at almost 1,300 stations – the largest combined program in the United States.

Since launching the partnership, almost 475,000 rides originated in Hoboken, utilizing one of the city’s 28 docking stations.

Lyft and the City of Hoboken also offer Hoboken Housing Authority residents and SNAP recipients  discounted memberships that cost $5 per month or $60 annually. Full-price membership costs $185 annually.
