“On Sunday February 28, 2021 my brother Christian Lee Parra was taken from us. In an instant his life was cut short for no logical reasoning. The life of a good man was taken in a moments notice,” Eric Maldonado, Parra’s brother, wrote in the GoFundMe description.

“We will never understand or comprehend this ill fated action or ever forget this godforsaken day. As I sit here and write this, the only words I can express are my pain and suffering … My brother was a well regarded soul and considered one of the nicest individuals anyone would ever want to meet.”

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office said on Sunday that their homicide unit and the Jersey City Police Department were investigating a fatal shooting at the BJ’s Wholesale Club at 396 Marin Boulevard.

Police radio transmissions also indicated he was run over by a vehicle after being shot and that he was pronounced dead at the Jersey City Medical Center.

No arrests have been made in connection to the case as of this writing.

“We do this request for the kids and his wife so they can have a chance at life. We ask that you all remember Chris as I will for the delightful person he was, and the unforgettable memories he gave to us all. You will be missed my brother, Rest in Eternal Peace at the side of our Good Lord,” Maldonado concludes on the online fundraising page.

Thus far, the page has raised $17,850 towards their $25,000 goal from 166 different donors.

Additionally, Parra is survived by his wife and three children: Lena, Ava, and Sir. His funeral will be held at the Greenville Memorial Home, located at 374 Danforth Ave., on Sunday, March 7th between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
