Robinson Green is the daughter of Earnestine “Betty” Robinson, who played a historic role as the lead plaintiff in the 1973 New Jersey Supreme Court case Robinson v. Cahill, which put Jersey City’s fight for a better education system front and center.

The decision compelled the state to uphold its constitutional obligation to provide all public school students with a “thorough and efficient” education.

In 2017, she founded the Connected V.I.N.E. (Victors in Need of Each Other), an organization dedicated to mentoring and supporting community members who receive services.

Through this initiative, she has guided countless at-risk youth, provided essential resources to parents, and empowered adolescents to become leaders in their own communities.

She joins Kristen Zadroga Hart and Councilman-at-Large Daniel Rivera as O’Dea’s citywide candidates. Robinson Green’s campaign launch will be on Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Booker T. Washington Apartments, located at 200 Colden St.

Team O’Dea also consists of Pam Johnson in Ward A, Tom Zuppa in Ward C, and Elvin Dominici in Ward D, with a formal endorsement of Joel Brooks in Ward B pending.

He has the most declared council candidates to date at seven, with former Gov. Jim McGreevey announcing six running mates, Ward E Councilman James Solomon has five, and Council President Joyce Watterman has three.

Former Board of Education President Mussab Ali has not announced any slate mates yet ahead of the non-partisan November 4th municipal elections.
