“As you may all have heard by now, our 2nd home is in need of some help. <3 An electrical fire tore through the front of the building Our beloved dance school has been a shining gem in West New York for over 44 years!,” the GoFundMe page description says.

“We may have stopped shining on stage years ago, but we need to come back together for one more encore! Our hours spent at the Academy have been more than even in our own home – proudly calling it our home away from home.”

Alexa Martinez, the woman who started the online fundraising effort, said that the studio will offer virtual classes for as long as their space at 536 61st St. is out of commission.

As of 3 p.m. this afternoon, the GoFundMe has 103 donors and is just $1,515 away from their goal.

The particulars of what started the fire or how much damage was caused were not immediately available.
