“Bayonne is currently experiencing important changes. Good municipal leaders are paramount to the growth of a community. Their decisions have a direct impact on the lives of working families in the city,” 32BJ SEIU Vice President and New Jersey State Director Kevin Brown.
“Our members have decided to endorse Sharon Ashe-Nadrowski team because they have a proven track record for working towards bettering the institutions they serve. We are looking forward to working together through the recovery and build a Bayonne for all.”
Ashe-Nadrowski is running with Julie Sanchez-Lynch in the 1st Ward, George Vinc in the 2nd Ward, Board of Education President Maria Varela in the 3rd Ward, along with BOE Trustee Jodi Casais and PAL Executive Director KT Torello at-large.
“32BJ works each and every day to fight for the working individuals and their communities. Their endorsement means the world to me, and I am honored to have their support and voice in our campaign,” added Ashe-Nadrowski.
With 175,000 members in 11 states, including more than 13,000 in New Jersey, 32BJ SEIU is the largest property services union in the country.
Last year, the influential union endorsed Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla and his team, along with Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop and most of his ticket – with the exceptions of Ward E Councilman James Solomon and then-Councilman-at-Large Rolando Lavarro.
Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis has recently announced his own union support from the Hotel and Gaming Trades Council and the local teachers union.
