A 22-year-old Union City man was convicted by a jury of sexually assaulting a boy, 8, at a public pool in 2019, authorities said.

Angel Rosario-Sanchez, 22, of Union City, was found guilty of sexual assault by contact and endangering the welfare of a child.
The verdict was delivered before the Hudson County Superior Court Judge Nesle A. Rodriguez on Thursday following a five-day trial.
An investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Union City Police Department determined Rosario-Sanchez committed a sex crime on an 8-year-old boy he did not know at the Firefighters’ Memorial Pool on Ninth Street in Union City on July 30th, 2019.
The jury found Rosario-Sanchez not guilty of similar charges involving a 12-year-old boy on the same day.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on Friday, July 15th, 2022.
The sexual assault by contact charge carries a sentence of 5 to 10 years in state prison and the endangering the welfare of acChild charge carries a sentence of 3 to 5 years in state prison. His sentence is also subject to Megan’s Law and Parole Supervision for Life.
