On December 16th at 10:03 a.m., the Secaucus Police Department responded to LA Fitness, located 485 Harmon Meadow Boulevard, on a report of an unresponsive man, who was not breathing, Miller said in a statement

Juan Germosen, a civilian witness to the event, immediately began CPW. Upon the arrival of police, Officer Christopher Boyko took over CPR and was later assisted by Officer Jonathan Padron.

While performing CPR, Officer Justin Pardo utilized his Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and administered two “shocks” to the victim and a pulse was found shortly thereafter.

Hudson Regional Hospital EMT’s and Jersey City Medical Center Paramedics, who both arrived on the scene, took over CPR and later administered two additional “shocks” to the victim.

The victim was transported to Hudson Regional Hospital, stabilized and later transferred to Hackensack University Medical Center for immediate cardiac care. As of this writing, the victim remains in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

“I am extremely proud of these officers and I commend their collaboration in performing these lifesaving measures and bringing this victim back to life,” Miller added.

“I also want to praise Hudson Regional Hospital EMS and Jersey City Medical Center’s Paramedics for their ongoing commitment to the safety of the residents of the Town of Secaucus.”

Miller also highlighted two officers saving a woman’s life by utilizing CPR and a defibrillator last month.
