At approximately 11:15 a.m. today, Jersey City police responded to a WOTS (word on the street) app report of possible drug activity, according to city spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione.
Three police officers responded, including two officers on a nearby anti-violence walking post at the time. Upon further investigation, a weapon was produced by a man, which he fired at the corner of Rutgers and McAdoo Avenues.
Jamel Bolden, 32, was immediately arrested and the three officers suffered minor injuries during a brief struggle with him, who is expected to be charged with resisting arrest – among other charges, Wallace Scalcione said.
This is the third Jersey City incident where shots were fired in the past week: five days after four people were wounded by gun fire and three days after the South District police staton and a neighboring school were struck by bullets.
Maybe Fulop can admit that there is more to Jersey City than downtown. He needs to become Mayor of the entire city or resign.
This occurred at the corner of Rutgers and Stevens, not Rutgers and McAdoo.
