A man was charged with trying to discard heroin in Bayonne after being stopped by police on Saturday afternoon, according to Police Capt. Eric Amato.

Taylor Stackhouse, 41, of Bayonne, is charged with possession of controlled a dangerous substance (heroin), tampering with evidence, and obstructing a governmental function, Amato said.
Stackhouse was taken into custody at about 2:59 p.m. on Saturday from the area of 20th Street and Broadway for narcotic offenses.
During the on-scene investigation, Stackhouse refused to comply with the officers’ orders to halt so that they could conduct an investigation as he attempted to discard the heroin, authorities said.
