Police: Man, teen arrested for stealing $1,168 worth of Legos in Secaucus

A man and a teenager from Elizabeth were arrested at the Walmart in Secaucus after stealing $1,168.88 worth of Legos last week, police said.

Angel Escalera, 18, and a 13-year-old juvenile male, both of Elizabeth were charged with shoplifting, while Escalera was also charged with conspiracy, endangering the welfare of a child and employing a minor in crime, according to Police Capt. Dennis Miller.

On July 7th at approximately 6:49 p.m., police were dispatched to Walmart, located at 400 Park Plaza Dr., on a call of shoplifting, authorities said.

According to officials, the young duo was caught trying to steal $1168.88 of Legos.

The juvenile was released to a family member, while Escalera was processed and transported to Hudson County Jail, police said.
