Jersey City Council President Rolando Lavarro requested a closed caucus special meeting to discuss legal issues surrounding the Sixth Street Embankment and Bright and Varick.
In a memo from City Clerk Robert Byrne to members of the Jersey City Council, Council President Rolando Lavarro ordered a special meeting for Monday, September 8th at 5:00 PM.
The meeting, which will be closed to the public, will be held to “discuss pending litigation and matters within the attorney client privilege” regarding the Sixth Street Embankment.
Sources have informed Hudson County View that no settlement has been agreed on to end the decade-long legal battle.
In an August 4th, 2014 interview, Real Estate Developer Steve Hyman blasted Mayor Fulop and city hall, as well as the Embankment Preservation Coalition, in a sit down with Hudson County View regarding the Sixth Street Embankment.
In addition to the Sixth Street Embankment, issues surrounding redevelopment on Bright and Varick will be discussed.
